Everyday, our skin is exposed to the damaging effects of ultra violet rays, environmental pollution and harsh chemicals present in the products. Long term exposure and ignorance can lead to common skin problems such as aging, acne, blemishes, dark spots, eczema, wrinkles and dull complexion. To combat these problems, all you need to do is afford some time and use natural ingredients easily available in your kitchen. Let’s try out some of the home remedies for attaining a naturally beautiful skin:

Take half a bowl of curd and mix it well with a few drops of lemon (Citrus limon). Gently massage it all over your body. Take a shower after 10-15 minutes. Application of the same twice a week would impart a toned and flawless skin.

Prepare a paste of gram (Cicer arietinum) flour in raw milk. Add a few drops of lemon to the same. Before taking a bath, scrub the paste on your body in circular motions for few minutes. This would exfoliate dead skin and removes excess oil, leaving behind a clean and glowing skin.

Take 2 teaspoons milk cream and add some saffron (Crocus sativus) to it. Leave it overnight. Mix it well next morning and massage your face, neck and hands with the same. This would remove skin dryness and improve complexion.

Take glycerin, lemon juice and rose (Rosa indica) water in equal amounts and mix them in a glass bottle.
Apply this natural moisturizing lotion regularly before retiring to bed. It is also beneficial in preventing acne and early aging of the skin.

Rub red sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus) in rose water to make a paste. Apply this paste over face and neck for improving complexion.

Grind a potato (Solanum tuberosum) and collect its juice. Apply the juice on your face and leave to dry. Wash it after 10-15 minutes. It helps removes ugly acne marks from the skin.

Mix a teaspoon of honey with few drops of lemon juice and saffron. Apply all over the face. It is known to be effective in lightening spots as well as nourishing the skin.

Mash a banana (Musa paradisiaca) and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Apply this paste over face and neck for 15-20 minutes. It works as an effective moisturizer for the skin.
